The Sinhalese Cultural Centre (SCC) has launched the CommunityLink Program, an initiative designed to connect community members who are offering voluntary services or essential goods with those who are in need. Recipients may include newly arrived migrant individuals and families, as well as anyone in the community seeking assistance.
Funding for this project has been provided by the NSW Government.
Our community is rich with generous individuals willing to provide a variety of voluntary services. These include:
- Justice of the Peace (JP) services
- Supplementary mental health support
- Support for new mothers
- Job search assistance
- Guidance for starting small businesses
- Many more services …
At the same time, many community members are seeking these services. One of the key goals of the CommunityLink Program is to connect Voluntary Service Providers with Service Recipients.
In addition to services, many members are also willing to donate new or gently used essential items. These may include:
- Furniture
- White goods (e.g. refrigerators, washing machines)
- Garden equipment
- Many more…
Just as with services, there are individuals and families who would greatly benefit from receiving these items. The program aims to link Goods Donors with Goods Recipients, offering practical support while promoting sustainability through re-use.
